This is a message from a Strategist magazine media partner.
Engage Media Solutions is a social enterprise that is passionate about enhancing children’s knowledge of the digital world. Our CPD-accredited annual summit, Child Internet Safety, brings together experts from all walks of life who share this aim.
The internet is a matchless education, communication, entertainment, discovery and diversity resource that should be celebrated, but it can present risks to vulnerable young people.
Who we are, what we do
With technology evolving so rapidly, inspiring both children and parents to stay safe online and in the real world can be a challenge.
Through conferences, exhibitions, roadshows and a forthcoming magazine* (see below), we equip practitioners and parents with the tools to help children value the internet while understanding its dangers. Our mission: Stay safe online.
The new Computing curriculum will be taught in schools from September 2014, and Ofsted inspectors will want to see how schools protect students and staff from the broad spectrum of threats, including indecent and/or violent images, racism, cyber-bullying, and more.
Our second annual Child Internet Safety summit – Protect, Prevent, Pursue – took place on 3 July 2014 at the QEII Conference Centre in Westminster, London, and we will be staging further events in the months ahead, and expanding into an exciting range of new initiatives.
*: A forthcoming quarterly magazine will be produced for Engage Media Solutions by EastwoodMiddleton, owners and publishers of Strategist magazine UK and its mobile-first digital edition, iamtheStrategist.com. Stand by for further announcements.
Strategist founder and Editor in Chief Chris Middleton says: “It has always been our strategy to engage with those community organisations and social enterprises whose aims we support, and so I’m delighted to announce our ongoing partnership with the CIS Summit and its organisers.
“In this day and age, realism is essential and sensationalism can be dangerous in itself, so we support their determination to educate young people about both the advantages and the dangers of digital media, and to help families understand the complex world we live in and the new types of challenge it presents.
“I’m also proud that EastwoodMiddleton has been chosen as the publishing partner for a new magazine that will focus on these and related issues.”
